TPC stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter civil rights movement and condemns the systematic racism and state-endorsed violence inflicted upon Black people. TPC condemns acts of racism, violence, and discrimination against Indigenous and other people of color. As an organization dedicated to the emotional and spiritual well-being and healing of those in our community, TPC is committed to providing a safe, welcoming space to all.
We are taking the following actions to ensure TPC is best able to meet the needs of the people we serve while also bettering our community:
- Researching the development of a Client Aid Fund dedicated to assisting specifically BIPOC families and individuals.
- Recommitting to giving priority hiring to BIPOC therapists so we may provide inclusive, culturally specific, and affirming healing modalities to all in our community.
- Maintaining awareness and remaining intentional regarding how TPC’s money is spent with focus on supporting BIPOC- and women-owned small businesses for our office and contracting needs.
- Providing a list of resources for white people who wish to educate themselves on the issues of racism and white supremacy, and materials on how to be an effective ally.
For a comprehensive collection of educational materials, please visit this website. It has been coded and designed by a young Black and Latina woman who has freely provided resources, actionable items, and inclusive information regarding the movement and those who have lost their lives to police brutality.
For an additional list of materials, please download TPC’s Racial Justice PDF. This is curated for white people seeking to educate themselves, but is accessible to everyone.
