Alana has a great deal of respect and admiration for those individuals and families who seek the support of a therapeutic relationship. Her experience includes treating children ages 2 to 18 years of age, families, and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This vast array of experience has given Alana insight and knowledge in developing a treatment approach, which not only builds on the strengths of individuals and their support systems, but values each individual’s personal experiences and perspectives.
Alana’s therapeutic orientation includes play therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, insight-oriented therapy, and narrative therapy. Much of Alana’s experience focuses on behavior management, emotion regulation, issues related to foster care and adoption, anxiety, depression, parenting in various family structures, and life transitions. Alana’s intent in establishing a therapeutic relationship is to honor each individual’s and family’s values, goals, spirituality, and personal experiences.
