An Integrative

Seminar for

Practicing

Psychotherapists

Spiritual

Dimensions of

Psychotherapy

What does it take to work effectively

and in depth with clients in the area

of their spiritual lives? We propose

that the most important factors are

these:

• Ongoing reflection and exploration

of one’s own attitudes, beliefs,

dilemmas and unresolved questions

regarding spirituality, spiritual life

and religious experience; and

• Ongoing cultivation of

resourcefulness and skill in

engaging clients where their

spiritual life holds untapped

potential for healing and growth, or

where their spiritual wounds

undermine healing and inhibit

growth.

This seminar is intended for

therapists who want to grow in their

capacity to enter into this core

aspect of human experience with

their clients. Participants will explore

their own spirituality/spiritual

journeys in a non-judgmental, nondogmatic

atmosphere. They will

engage in reading, discussion and

rotating case presentations with the

goal of honing their clinical skills in

this crucial area of concern.

The seminar will meet monthly on the

second Wednesday of the month,

10:15 AM to 12:15 PM, beginning in

September 2007 and ending in June

2008. Twenty CEU’s will be available

from the National Board of Certified

Counselors through the American

Association of Pastoral Counselors.

Tuition is $750, payable in a lump sum

or in installments. The registration

fee of $100 is due at the time of sign

up for the seminar and will be applied

to tuition.

The seminar will be limited to eight

participants.

A continuing study group will be

offered to alumni of the seminar who

want to continue learning

collaboratively in the area of

spirituality and psychotherapy.
